About the event
The Vedic tradition contains hundreds of texts exploring nearly every aspect of human life, from the material to the spiritual. These writings discuss subjects such as health (Ayurveda), architecture (Vastu), astrology (Jyotir), philosophy, ethics, and spiritual practice. Some focus on rituals and religious traditions, while others present mystical and esoteric insights into consciousness and the nature of reality. Certain scriptures deal with the physical world, whereas others describe higher states of awareness and eternal realms beyond material existence. This presentation will offer a structured introduction to the vast body of Vedic knowledge, its different theories of origin, and its purpose as a guide for elevating human consciousness. Some texts convey their teachings through captivating stories and memorable narratives (Smriti), while others express profound philosophical ideas in a more abstract and contemplative style (Shruti).
