About the event

Human beings are conscious living entities. Consciousness is spread throughout the body. Where does our consciousness originate from? Is it a product of the brain, e.g. are our brain activities stimulating consciousness, or has it another source? What does the present stand of scientific data say about consciousness, self-reflection and the brain?


From the established axioms, the second talk explores the so-called “Hard Problem”, issues of subjectivity, qualia, the self, mind-brain interactionism, free will and more. It specifically will delve into the metaphysical framework that addresses these challenges.


Martin Fleming (UK) is a distinguished Vedanta philosopher known for over 400 broadcasts on BBC Radio 4 specializing in human consciousness and reality subjects. He trained for twenty years in a meditative yoga discipline, studying the experiential metaphysics of India’s extensive Vedic texts.
