About the event
Human beings are conscious living entities. Consciousness is spread throughout the body. Where does our consciousness originate from? Is it a product of the brain, e.g. are our brain activities stimulating consciousness, or has it another source? What does the present stand of scientific data say about consciousness, self-reflection and the brain?
Martin Fleming (UK) is a distinguished Vedanta philosopher known for over 400 broadcasts on BBC Radio 4 specializing in consciousness and reality subjects. He trained for twenty years in a meditative yoga discipline, studying the experiential metaphysics of India’s extensive Vedic texts. Currently, he is a director of the Science & Philosophy Initiative in the UK and the Bhaktivedanta Institute for Higher Studies in the USA. Recently in April, he presented a four-hour workshop at the international Science of Consciousness conference in Tucson, Az.
