About the event

Human beings are conscious living entities. Consciousness is spread throughout the body. Where does our consciousness originate from? Is it a product of the brain, e.g. are our brain activities stimulating consciousness, or has it another source? What does the present stand of scientific data say about consciousness, self reflection and the brain?

About the speaker: Martin Fleming (UK) is a distinguished Vedanta philosopher known for over 400 broadcasts on BBC Radio 4 specializing in consciousness and reality subjects. He trained for twenty years in a meditative yoga discipline, studying the experiential metaphysics of India’s extensive Vedic texts. Currently, he is a director of the Science & Philosophy Initiative in the UK and the Bhaktivedanta Institute for Higher Studies in the USA. Recently in April, he presented a four-hour workshop at the international Science of Consciousness conference in Tucson, Az.
